Floating Prototype
Commissioned by the European Horizon 2020 program, this research project aimed to test the feasibility of a sustainable and affordable living and working environment in tidal conditions, through the development of a standardized, cost-effective, and low ecological impact modular island.
As part of this research, a 1:60 scale demonstrator was designed and built in order to undergo hydrodynamic testing and performance evaluation. This prototype made it possible to study the structure’s behavior in response to water movements, as well as the system’s stability and modularity, in order to validate the construction and environmental principles proposed by the project.
